I’m the mother of three young, curious and thoughtful children. We recently came across a disturbing video on Facebook that showed a helpless turtle with a plastic straw stuck up its nose. My daughters were distraught by the video and rather than hitting the "Like" button, I wanted to teach my daughters how simple daily changes can infact make a big difference. I wanted to teach them to be more than just bystanders but influencers in their young communities. More importantly I wanted to teach them to be leaders for change.
I came across various foundations that are actively developing methods to clear the ocean and I knew I needed to be a part of this change and have my daughters join me on this journey.
